Birth Doula Services
Our first consulation is a free consultation to see if we get along, and if you feel that I am a good fit for you.
Phone & Email Support
If you decide to hire me I will be available for constant phone support and email support from the day you hire me. Though I may not be able to answer right away, I will always respond in a timely fashion. From week 37 of your pregnancy, I consider myself "On-Call" and will have my phone on me at all times, including Shabbat.
2 Prenatal Visits
I offer two pernatal visits to prepare you and your partner for your birth. I do review for husbands of basics they may have missed in birth class, and am happy to answer any questions.
As a Doula, I Do Not:
During labor I will join you when you feel it is necesarry for me to come. I will listen to the parents and come when they need me.I provide Bilngual support for those that need it. I will help with relaxation, support your decisions and provide you with relevant information.
Baby’s first feeding Support
I will stay until Mama and baby are settled. I am able to help with your first latch, and helping begin the nursing relationship.
Postpartum follow-up visit
I offer 1-2 postpartum follow up visits between 1-6 weeks after birth, to make sure everyone is adjusting appropriately.
Perform any clinical tasks
I will not perform any clinical tasks such as checking dilation or station of the baby.
Make decisions for you
I will not make decisions for you, but rather I WILL provide you with the information you need to help you make the best decision for you and your family.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
By law I cannot speak to the staff on your behalf, but rather I encourage writing a birth plan ahead of time that I can point to for you in times when you feel unable to speak.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
I do not believe that any one way is the right way for you and your baby to experience birth, but rather I will encourage you to follow the directions and choices you believe to be correct during your own birth. Whether it be natural or medicated, your birth should be ALL YOURS.
